The Shelton Farmers Market opens for the season today, Saturday, June 21. Hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The market operates out of the Shelton Farmers Market Building on Canal Street at Cornell Street, near Veterans Memorial Park (the Riverwalk).

This will be the 22nd year for the Shelton Farmers Market. Farmers and other vendors sell fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs and other food items from around the state.

The market will remain open on Saturdays through the fall, with Wednesday late afternoon hours as well beginning in July.

Some of the participating farms during the course of the year will be Belinsky Family Farm, Oxford; East Village Farm, Shelton; Green Thumb Farm, Trumbull; Guy’s Eco Garden, Shelton; Honey Hollow Farm, Shelton; Killiam and Bassette Farm, Glastonbury; Pepe’s Cream of the Crop, Stratford; These Things Take Thyme, Shelton; and Waterview Farm, Shelton.
