Shelton Girl Scouts selling cookies outside Walgreens
Girl Scouts from Shelton Troop No. 60290 will sell cookies at the Walgreens on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Girl Scouts will continue cookie booth sales, such as the one in front of the Shelton Walgreens, through March 31.
Most booth sales will provide customers with the opportunity to purchase cookies for themselves or for the Cookies for Heroes program.
This Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s service project collects boxes of Girl Scout cookies and sends them to service women and men at home and overseas. Learn more at cookiesforheroes.com.

—Thank U Berry Munch
Proceeds help local troop activities
The proceeds from Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s cookie program stay in Connecticut and directly benefit scouting programs, including the Girl Scout troop or group from which the cookies were purchased.
Girl Scouts use the cookie proceeds for many different activities. This can include helping out local animal shelters and support emergency personnel during times of hurricanes and nor’easters, to fund camping trips and other overnight activities, and to travel to places around New England and the country.
Cookies for Heroes program
The Cookies for Heroes program is back. Last year, more than 125,000 boxes were sent to U.S. service women and men, and this year the goal is to send even more.
The Cookies for Heroes service project allows customers to purchase cookies from their local Girl Scout, and then the Girl Scouts of Connecticut — along with community partners — will ship the cookies to military members serving overseas and at home.
Help girls discover their personal best
“Girl Scout supporters who purchase a box of cookies are investing in girl-led and girl-centered programming that helps girls discover their personal best; connect with others to build healthy relationships; and take action in their communities to make the world a better place,” according to a Girl Scout press release.
Girl Scout cookie fans who don’t know a Girl Scout can log on to gsofct.org and click on the cookie to connect with Girl Scouts participating in the cookie program in their town. Call 800-922-2770 for information.
