Shelton High School sponsors Save-A-Suit

A benefit for the organization that helps veterans get business attire is coming up in Shelton.

Shelton High School will sponsor a Save-A-Suit drive in the SHS bus loop on Saturday, May 10 from 8 a.m.-noon.

Save-A-Suit, a nonprofit organization that provides former military and college graduates with professional business attire and the confidence needed to succeed, was an initiative that was founded in 2010 by Scott Sokolowski. The organization is based out of Shelton.

What is needed

Business suits for men and women, men’s ties, men and women’s dress shirts, and men and women’s dress shoes and belts will be collected. Clothing brought on a hanger would be helpful, but it is not a necessity, organizers said.

Not being accepted is women’s skirts, tops, dresses, jeans, and men’s pants or blazers.

If the item happens to be in a dry cleaning bag, leave it in that bag, so it can be identified as having been dry cleaned. Garment bags will also be collected at the drive.

Residents may also drop off monetary donations to be donated to Save-A-Suit.
