Shelton businessman to again lead United Way campaign

Valley United Way President and COO Jack Walsh, left, and Shelton businessman Tom Steeves at the local United Way’s 2014-15 Community Campaign kickoff on Tuesday night at the Riverwalk in Shelton.

Steeves will again lead the fund-raising effort for the philanthropic organization, which serves Shelton, Ansonia, Derby, Oxford and Seymour.

The Valley United Way’s 47th Community Campaign kickoff event was a barbecue at the Rotary Pavilion.

Steeves, executive vice president and partner at Install Media Group, also oversaw last year’s Community Campaign. He was named the Valley United Way Volunteer Center’s Volunteer of the Year in 2012.

Steeves said the Valley is a special place and that everyone can play a role in making the region a better place to live, work and play.

The annual Community Campaign plays a pivotal role in supporting many needed services in the Valley.

Valley United Way funds programs and organizations serving youth, families and people in crisis.
