Shelton doctor to speak about breast cancer patient advocacy
Dr. Mark Melendez, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with an office in Shelton, will give a presentation on breast cancer patient advocacy at Griffin Hospital in Derby on Thursday, April 9.
The program, free and open to the public, will feature experts from the fields of breast surgery, radiology, physical therapy, and nutrition. It begins at 5:30 p.m.; registration required at 203-732-7233 or griffinhealth.org (events calendar section).
Melendez is a board member of nonprofit Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Connecticut. He will discuss raising awareness about breast health and available services, Connecticut locations with the highest numbers of residents with breast cancer, and the mission of Komen Connecticut.
