Shelton football Gaels, Q Club going pink with raffle at Friday’s game
The Shelton Quarterback Club and the Shelton Gael football program are going pink to support breast cancer awareness.
The Quarterback Club will sponsor a raffle with various prizes at the team’s home game Friday, Oct. 17, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. The game against Wilbur Cross High School of New Haven begins at 7 p.m. at Edward Finn Stadium at SHS.
Top prize is a Apple Macbook Pro laptop (refurbished, two years old), with Apple Care coverage through Feb. 22, 2015 as well as a carrying case and lap desk.
Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the game. The drawing will be held at the start of the third quarter (people must be present to win).
Boost research, community education
Through the American Cancer Society, money from the raffle will fund research, provide free programs for people with cancer and their caregivers, advocate for better cancer screenings and treatment, and provide education and information.
“Together, we'll help save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays,” according to Quarterback Club publicity material.
The raffle’s top prize was donated by Somerset Capital Group of Milford.
