Shelton resident to perform in play in New Haven
A Shelton resident will perform two roles in the Elm Shakespeare Company’s upcoming production of "Pericles, Prince of Tyre."
Iris McQuillan-Grace of Shelton will play both Lychorida, who is a nurse, and a Bawd, who is someone associated with a brothel.
The Shakespeare in the Park free outdoor production will take place at 8 p.m. from Aug. 14 to 31 at Edgerton Park in New Haven. This version will be set in the Caribbean with evil leaders and pirates, fishermen and foul weather.
The William Shakespeare play tells the tale of a man finding and losing love, and then finding it again; and battle of the forces of fate, fortune and nature.
More than 30,000 people are expected to attend the performances. The show’s artistic director is James Andreassi.
