Sikorsky Credit Union and the Boys & Girls Help Students Get Back To School
All across the region, students are heading back to school. This exciting time can be stressful for some families who cannot afford to purchase all the school supplies their children need. Sikorsky Credit Union members helped to ease this stress by donating school supplies at their Shelton branch, with items going directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, a community non-profit organization based in Shelton.
During August, members gave generously, and the results were noteworthy. “I was very pleased to see how many of our members donated to this important drive, “ said Paolo Mancuso, Shelton branch manager. “Thanks to these donations, many students are going to school more prepared this year.”
Shaye Roscoe, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley added, "When a child is prepared for school with the necessary tools, they have a greater chance at succeeding. We are so grateful for our relationship with Sikorsky Credit Union, as they help us enable children and teens to achieve a great future.”
