Spring book sale coming to Plumb Memorial Library

Bargains are in bloom at the Friends of the Shelton Libraries’ annual Spring Book Sale at the Plumb Memorial Library from May 14 to 17.

Available will be hard-cover and paperbacks for adults, kids and teens, as well as books on CD and DVDs.

Proceeds from the book sales benefit the Friends of the Shelton Libraries. Members of the friends receive discounts on purchases. The group supports both public libraries in Shelton, providing programs, materials, volunteers and spokespersons.

Opening night event

On Thursday, May 14, the doors will be open from  6-8 p.m. for First Night, an opportunity for the first choice on purchases. The night requires a $5 per person entrance fee for the two-hour sale at regular prices.

The book sale then will take place:

— Friday, May 15 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

— Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (everything is half price)

— Sunday, May 17 from noon-4 p.m. (fill a bag for $5 each

Volunteers and book donations

Friends of the Shelton Libraries is seeking volunteers to sort donations and work at the sale.

Ongoing book sales on a smaller scale are available at both libraries in their adult departments.

Donations of books and media are welcome at Plumb Memorial Library at any time. A cart is parked in the entry of the lower level to allow quick drop off.
