The annual Valley Has a Heart Spooner House food collection is Sunday, April 19 from 10 a.m.=3 p.m. at three Stop & Shop stores in the lower Naugatuck Valley: Shelton, Ansonia and Seymour.
The goal is to gather enough non-perishable food to last for at least two months and $5,000 in cash to use for restocking the shelves as needed following the cold winter months when giving generally decreases.
Stop & Shop is the overall marquee sponsor for the food drives. Dworken, Hillman, LaMorte, and Sterczala, P.C. is the site sponsor for both Shelton and Ansonia. Also again this year the Hairy Dog Grrrage, will be the Seymour site sponsor.
The Stop & Shop stores where donations can be made are at:
— 898 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton
— 100 Division St. in Ansonia
— 15 Franklin St, in Seymour

Wish List
Shoppers at all three locations will receive a Spooner House Wish List when they walk in the door with encouragement to donate on their way out.
There will be a competition between the three Stop & Shop locations to raise the most money and non-perishable food items.
