TOMORROW--Teen Musical Theatre Workshop begins Oct. 30

Center Stage Theatre opens its annual Teen Musical Theatre Workshop production, directed by Gina and Mia Scarpa, this Friday at 8 p.m. The show will run on Oct.30, Oct. 31, Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. and on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.

The Teen Musical Theatre Workshop is a Broadway musical review featuring high school students. The program promotes an enthusiasm and a love for musical theatre. As performers, teens are taught valuable skills in "selling" a song in both solo and ensemble performances. In the process, cast members also learn that great performances are the result of great rehearsals.

The production features forty teenagers from schools in the area, including Shelton High School, Shelton Intermediate School, Amity High School, St. Joseph High School, Masuk High School, Seymour High School, Sacred Heart Academy, Emmett O'Brien Regional Vocational-Technical School, and Coop Arts and Humanities High School.

The cast will perform musical selections from such musicals as "Mary Poppins," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Little Shop of Horrors," and "In the Heights."

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling 203-225-6079 or visiting
