
“Parents and Friends Embracing the Challenge” is the theme for the Kennedy Center awards dinner and annual meeting on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn, 1070 Main St.
Shelton residents Cindy Brestovan and Steve Smith serve on the committee organizing the event.
The keynote speaker will be Jocelyn Maminta, Channel 8 News medical reporter and co-founder of Caroline’s Room, who will receive the Kennedy Center Vision Award.
The Emmy Award-nominated reporter has been involved with nonprofits across the state. Caroline’s Room is a safe haven for families coping with the challenges and uncertainties surrounding the birth of a premature baby.
