Tiger Scouts from Shelton tour the Herald printing plant

A group of Tiger Scouts from Booth Hill School in Shelton took a May 1 tour of the Trumbull Printing facilities, where the Shelton Herald newspaper is printed every week.

The tour was led by Don Polk, an account executive at Trumbull Printing. The printing plant on Spring Hill Road in Trumbull is owned by Hersam Acorn, and produces all the company’s newspapers — covering Greenwich to Ridgefield to Milford — as well as many other print products for outside clients.

Earning a badge

The visit to the printing plant was the last “Go See It” (or field trip) the boys had to complete for their Tiger Scout badge qualifications, so all will now advance to the next step in Scouting.

The youngsters, all first-graders at Booth Hill, are members of Shelton Pack 24, Den 3.
