Two Shelton churches offer Lenten fish fry meals
Fish fry dinners continue on Friday nights through the Lenten season at two Shelton churches.
At St. Joseph’s Church, the dinners are available from 5-8 p.m. in the church basement at 50 Fairmont Place, just off Coram Avenue.
Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks, although soda, water, juice and coffee are available for purchase as well.
Many new items are on the menu this year, and many old favorites have returned. One of the healthy new items, baked fish, has quickly proved to be a favorite.
All of the food is available to dine in or take out. Credit cards are now accepted.
First United Methodist Church
At First United Methodist Church of Shelton, 188 Rocky Rest Road (corner of Long Hill Avenue), the meals are available from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The menu includes baked or fried fish, potato, pasta, homemade coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Cost is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (60 and older), and $5 for children 12 and younger.
No reservations are needed. Both dine-in or take-out options are available.
Proceeds support the church’s ministries and missions. Call 203-929-3537 or visit www.umcshelton.org.
At both churches, the Lenten fish fry dinners continue on Friday nights at the same times through March 27.
