Valley SantaCon collects more than 150 toys, 565 pounds of food

Derby streets were filled with Santa, elves, reindeer and more last weekend as the second annual Valley SantaCon kicked off. About 300 people came to this year's pub crawl.

The event collected more than 150 toys for Yale New Haven Children's Hospital and slighty more than 565 pounds of food to donate to the Connecticut Food Bank in Waterbury, according to organizer Dave D'Agostino.

D'Agostino gave special thanks to Brittani Schumacher from Ansonia, who helped deliver the toys. Special thanks to Willie Woodin, owner of "Above Them All" landscaping and tree service for allowing them to use his trailer to store the donations and for him dropping off the food in Waterbury.
