The White Hills Voluntary Fire Company is getting ready for the White Hills tree-lighting ceremony and Santa’s annual tour of White Hills.

Friends and neighbors are invited to the community tree-lighting Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at the White Hills Fire House, 2 School St. Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance.

All are welcome to join fire company members for a cup of hot chocolate after the tree-lighting. Toys will be accepted on that night for families in need.

Each year through the generosity of Shelton residents, the fire company provides truckloads of new, unwrapped toys for families in need.

Santa travels the neighborhood

The following weekend, on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Santa will be escorted on a fire truck through the White Hills.

Santa and his helpers will hand out popcorn balls to children during Santa’s tour through the neighborhood. The trip will begin in Upper White Hills and end in Lower White Hills.

Members of the White Hills Fire Company will follow Santa’s engine with pickup trucks as part of the fire company’s toy collection drive. New, unwrapped toys will be accepted.
