Celebrate Shelton\u2019s holiday festivities will kick-off with a Community Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30pm at Veteran\u2019s Memorial Park in Downtown Shelton. \u201cJoin us for our Third Annual Community Tree Lighting featuring performances and special appearance by Santa,\u201d said Heriot-Mikula. Children are encouraged to meet with Santa and take a photo. All are welcome, and this event is free to attend. \u00a0The Community Tree Lighting is sponsored by Celebrate Shelton, City of Shelton & the Valley Community Foundation. \u201cOver the next three Saturdays \u2013 Dec. 3, Dec. 10, and Dec. 17 \u2013 we will be welcoming over 30 handmade artisans for our Downtown Handmade Market. From candles to unique soaps, winter clothing and home goods, we have a wide range of locally made goods. The Holiday Handmade Markets take place on Dec. 3, Dec. 10, Dec. 17 \u00a0from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Conti Building \u2013 415 Howe Ave in Shelton. \u00a0All are welcome, and the event is free to attend. Featuring live music, children\u2019s activities, and over 30 handmade artisan vendors!
