In just more than two weeks, and with the help of 502 donations, the GoFundMe.com page set up to benefit the family of Kristjan Ndoj has raised $26,055. "The outpouring of support was just tremendous! I know I have said this before, but there is no amount of thank you that can be said to all of the amazing people who have donated to the Ndoj family," said page organizer Violet Thuqi Wills on the GoFundMe.com page. "No amount of money can take away the pain of losing a child, but at least they won't have to have a financial burden on top of all of their heartache," Wills said. Investigation continues Police continue to investigate the killing of Kristjan Ndoj, 15, a Shelton High School sophomore. On March 15, just before 9 p.m. gunshots were reportedly heard in a driveway on Agawam Trail, in the city’s Pine Rock neighborhood. That is where police found a badly wounded Kristjan Ndoj and he was rushed to the hospital. He was listed in critical condition until his death on March 20. ‘Kindness and goodness’ Kristjan is being remembered as a smart, friendly and kind person. “It was Kristjan’s kindness and goodness that should be the thing we celebrate today,” Monsignor Christopher Walsh said at the teenager’s funeral at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton on March 27. “He made everyone he encountered feel like a friend,” said Beth Smith, Shelton High School headmaster. The Ndoj family described Kristjan as “an enthusiastic student” and “a friendly, good-hearted, caring soul that enjoyed playing soccer.” Hoping for an arrest The GoFundMe.com fund-raising page started three days after the shooting to help support the Ndoj family. Donations came from all over the state and many from outside the area. “Please keep Kristjan's family in your thoughts and prayers and let's all pray that the police will soon make an arrest,” Wills said.
