Matt Bednarsky, a singer and songwriter who grew up in Shelton and now lives in Nashville, will perform Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. at the Huntington Street Cafe in Shelton. Bednarsky will be playing a variety of songs \u2014 some solo, and some with a band consisting of Michael J Donovan, Michael L\u2019Altrella, and his father Bruce Bednarsky. Musician Georgia Feroce will open the show. Bednarsky is a 2005 graduate of Shelton High School, where he was active with the drama club, choir and a cappella music groups. He graduated from New York University in 2009 and then lived in New York for awhile. To pursue his music career, he later moved to Nashville \u2014 known as Music City \u2014 and has been busy writing songs and performing ever since. Bednarsky described his music style as being pop-rock with traces of folk, jazz and blues. \u201cSomewhere between James Taylor and John Mayer,\u201d he said.
