Close to 200 people dined on pasta at the Pine Rock Park Fire Company\u2019s annual ziti dinner on Oct. 4 at the firehouse on Long Hill Avenue. \u201cIt was our best year yet,\u201d said Pine Rock firefighter Al Pereira, who serves on the volunteer department\u2019s fund-raising committee. Pereira said the event has been moved into the firehouse\u2019s garage because it became too big for the hall. \u201cIt\u2019s good to see the community support,\u201d he said. Verace\u2019s donated and prepared the food The meal was donated and prepared by Verace\u2019s Pizzeria, Tavern & Italian Eatery on Center Street in downtown Shelton. Guests dined on ziti, meatballs, sausage, salad and dessert. Money generated by the fund-raising dinner and associated raffle are used to pay expenses at the fire company. Pine Rock Park Fire Company No. 4 was founded in 1933 to serve much of south Shelton.
