On Friday, Feb. 26 at\u00a0around 7:30 AM the Shelton Police Department received a 911\u00a0call from the Buck Stop Citgo, located at 429 Shelton Ave, claiming that a man entered the store and attempted to rob them with a firearm. The store owner said that a man entered his store, pointed a gun at him and demanded money, according to a statement sent out by Detective Richard Bango. The man allegedly pointed a black semi-automatic pistol at the owner, chambered a round and demanded money, according to Detective Bango. At that point other customers entered the store and the suspect fled without any money. The owner of the store called police while watching the suspect run towards the Aspetuck Village Condominiums which are across the street. No injuries were reported to police. A review of the surveillance tape revealed that a white male in a Yankees sweatshirt and white gloves was the suspect. The suspect was identified as Joshua Zarembski, 24, of 119 Hunters Creek Shelton, and was \u00a0detained by police after being located smoking a cigarette on the porch of 119 Hunters Creek which is located in Aspetuck Village. The gun used in the robbery was later recovered by detectives and it was determined to be stolen. Zarembski was arrested and charged with criminal attempt Robbery, criminal\u00a0possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. Zarembski was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on\u00a0Feb. 29 in Derby Superior Court.
