3 juveniles arrested in rash of car burglaries
The Shelton Police Department arrested three juveniles in connection with a string of vehicles broken into during the week of March 21.
The three juveniles arrested were each charged with: 7 counts 3rd degree burglary, 7 counts of 3rd degree conspiracy to commit burglary, 7 counts of 6th degree larceny, 7 counts of 6th degree conspiracy to commit larceny, 1st degree larceny ,and 1st degree conspiracy to commit larceny.
The identities of those arrested have not been released and these listed charges stem from the Shelton Investigation and more arrests are expected.
During the investigation Police recovered a key to a vehicle stolen from Shelton. Police later located the vehicle in Waterbury, according to a prepared statement by Detective Chris Nugent of the Shelton Police.
With the assistance of Waterbury Police, Seymour Police, Milford Police, and the Orange Police Department agencies were able to link the juveniles to numerous car burglaries. The juveniles arrested were reported to have targeted unlocked vehicles during overnight hours.
Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles at night and remove valuables from their vehicles. Contact your local Police if you observe suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
