Four charged in alleged Shelton home break-in Wednesday
The Shelton Police Department has charged four people in connection with an alleged attempted burglary at an occupied home on Foxhunt Road on Wednesday morning.
Police received a 9-1-1 call at about 9:30 a.m. on March 5 from the resident, who said people were attempting to break into the home, and then fled in a vehicle when they allegedly realized someone was home. The caller was able to provide details on what the truck looked like.
Officers found the truck with the alleged burglars, and after an investigation charged the four individuals with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, and criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary.
Alleged participants from Shelton, Ansonia
— Sandra Purcell, 40, of Howe Avenue, Shelton, whose bond was $5,000.
— Walter Young, 57, of South Cliff Street, Ansonia, whose bond was $5,000.
— Danielle McDaniel, 28, of Clarkson Street, Ansonia, whose bond was $500.
— John Shibilski, 34, of Root Avenue, Ansonia, whose bond was $5,000.
Two released and two in custody
McDaniel and Young were both released on bond and are scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Derby on March 19.
Both Purcell and Shibilski are being held on bond and are scheduled to appear in Derby court on March 6.
