Massage therapist faces more charges
Four more women have alleged that a man inappropriately touched them during massages after word of his arrest spread.
Kim Hyung surrendered to Shelton Police on July 26 in response to four different warrants, each charging him with fourth-degree sexual assault and practicing massage therapy without a license. Hyung was arraigned at state Superior Court in Derby and released on a a $20,000 bond.
All of the incidents are alleged to have occurred at Coco Spa, 704 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton. The women said Kim inappropriately touched and spoke to them.
Police said Wednesday, July 26, that the investigation in continuing and that anyone who experienced similar incidents should contact Shelton police at 203-924-1544.
Hyung, 53, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., was originally arrested July 5, charged with two counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault and practicing massage without a license. He was freed on a $15,000 bond after being arraigned on those charges.
Those arrests stem from complaints filed by a 38-year-old woman on May 6, and a 36-year-old woman on May 28.
While investigating those accusations, Shelton Police learned that Hyung does not have a license to practice massage therapy.
