Missing elderly Shelton woman is found safe
Shelton police found a missing Shelton woman last night on Huntington Street. She suffered from dementia and had been missing since Wednesday afternoon.
Kathleen Komlos, 70, was found on Thursday evening in the area of Trap Falls Road. She was well and not injured when found, police said.
On Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m., Shelton police responded to 6 Maple Lane Ext. for a report that an elderly woman who suffers from dementia had wondered off from her home. The woman had been in her back yard, but her husband then found her missing when he went to check on her.
The search was assisted by the Connecticut State Police K-9 units, Trumbull Police Department K-9 units and the Shelton Fire Department. Family members of Komlos helped police with the search.
Citizen spotted her
A female citizen had alerted the Shelton Police Department when saw a woman in the Trap Falls Road area.
Komlos was transported home to her family, and the Silver Alert that had been issued for Komlos was then canceled.
