Volunteers from the Pine Rock Fire Company No. 4 shoveled out fire hydrants during Monday's wicked weather.

Firefighters ask residents to shovel three feet around their hydrants to help first responders hook up hoses faster in case of an emergency.

Even if there is a little snow on the ground, as plows come to clear streets, more snow is pushed in front of hydrants. Keep that in mind while the snow and ice is being cleaned up.
