Photos: White Hills Fire Company sells lots of flowers for Easter
The White Hills Voluntary Fire Company No. 5 of Shelton had its annual Easter flower sale Friday and Saturday at the White Hills Shopping Center on Route 110.
Shown above are some Company No. 5 members on Saturday morning, with one of the many flower varieties available for purchase.
Sold were flowers and plants such as lilies, tulips, daffodils, azaleas, hyacinth, primrose and pansies.
Colder weather was somewhat of a challenge on Friday but the weather warmed up on Saturday, attracting many customers to the shopping plaza.
The all-volunteer fire department, which serves the White Hills neighborhood and often is called upon respond to emergencies throughout the city, has purchased vehicles and other life-saving equipment with money from fund-raising events such as the flower sale.
