Police say bomb threat at Shelton High was 'specific'

The Shelton Police Department received a report of a bomb threat at Shelton High School on Thursday afternoon, which was called into the school system just prior to dismissal at the school on Meadow Street.

Police said the threat was “specific,” and fire and school officials checked for the specific threat, according to a release from the police department. Nothing was located during the search.

“We were able to investigate and because the threat was specific, we could determine those things were safe,” a police official said Friday.

Students were allowed to exit the school at their regular dismissal time, with police and fire officials monitoring the situation.

Police are working with school officials to identify the suspect. The investigation continues.
