The Shelton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the following incidents between Jan. 12 and Jan. 20, as submitted by the fire marshal’s office:
Saturday, Jan. 12
At 6:40 a.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Anco Engineering, 217 Long Hill Cross Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
At 6:12 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 149 Hillside Ave. for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine responded.
At 7:04 p.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 349 Green Rock in the Aspetuck Condominiums off Shelton Avenue for an odor in the home. A problem with a furnace was the cause of the odor. An engine and a rescue engine responded.
At 8:29 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex, 187 Meadow St., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine, a rescue engine and a ladder truck responded.
Sunday, Jan. 13
At 12:05 a.m., the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the White Hills Fire Co. #5 for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire.
At 2:29 a.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded the Stratford Fire Department on Oronoque Road to standby while Stratford fought a large fire. An engine responded.
At 5:41 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 80 Lakeview Ave. for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
Monday, Jan. 14
At 5:28 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex, 187 Meadow St., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
Tuesday, Jan. 15
At 6:06 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Enterprise Corporate Tower #1, 1 Corporate Drive, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Steam from vent caused the alarm. A ladder truck responded.
At 1:36 p.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Anco Engineering, 217 Long Hill Cross Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. A problem with the buildings sprinkler system caused the alarm. The tower truck responded.
At 5:37 p.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 292 Summerfield Gardens for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine, a rescue pumper and a tower truck responded.
Wednesday, Jan. 16
At 2 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Hillside Avenue for wires down in the road. The wires were cable/phone lines. A unit responded.
At 3:08 p.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Shelton Avenue near Pine Street for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival firefighters had to extricate two occupants of a vehicle that had rolled over. An engine and two rescue engines responded.
At 4:54 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to BH Care, 579 Howe Ave., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. The tower truck and a ladder truck responded.
At 5:34 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 49 Pinewood Lane for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. A ladder truck responded.
Thursday, Jan. 17
At 12:53 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 549 Howe Ave. for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. The tower truck responded.
At 3:44 p.m., the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to the Elizabeth Shelton School at 138 Willoughby Road for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
At 6:30 p.m., the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 24 Golden Hill Lane for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. An engine responded.
Friday, Jan. 18
At 6:46 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to the Echo Hose H&L Co. #1 headquarters at 379 Coram Ave. for a report of smoke in the building. Firefighters found a small pile of debris smoldering from sparks from welding operations earlier in the day. A rescue engine responded.
At 1:33 p.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to Mohegan Road near Far Mill Road for a motor vehicle accident. An engine responded.
Saturday, Jan. 19
At 7:54 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 15 Charles St. for a chimney fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
At 9:04 p.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Shelton Avenue at Old Shelton Road for a motor vehicle accident. An engine and a rescue truck responded.
Sunday, Jan. 20
At 7:02 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to 31 Adams Drive for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 7:09 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Surrey Drive for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 7:20 a.m., the Huntington Co. #3 responded to Surrey Drive for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 9:14 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 43 Spruce Hill Road for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 9:38 a.m., the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 27 Brookwood Lane for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 10:06 a.m., the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #2 Old Orchard Road for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 10:44 a.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to route 8 northbound between exits 13 and 14 for a car fire. An engine and a rescue pumper responded.
At 10:56 a.m., the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 60 Maple Ave. for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
At 11:07 a.m., the Huntington Fire Co. #3 responded to 20 Mohegan Road for an electrical hazard; power line down or tree on power lines. An engine responded.
