The Shelton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the following incidents between June 3 and 10, as submitted by the fire marshal’s office:
Monday, June 3
At 4:18 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex, 187 Meadow Street, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine and a tower truck responded.
At 4:40 p.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 488 Asbury Ridge Road for an activated carbon monoxide alarm. An engine responded.
At 6:29 p.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 20 Spoke Drive for a barbecue grill fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
Tuesday, June 4
At 3 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Shelton Avenue at Meadow Street for a car fire. A rescue truck responded.
At 5:04 p.m. the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #71 Wakelee Street for a telephone line down. The line was thought to be a power line. An engine responded.
Wednesday, June 5
At 8:15 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to 14 Fourth Street for a small gasoline leak from a motor vehicle. An engine responded.
At 9:42 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Avalon Shelton Complex, 185 Canal Street, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
Thursday, June 6
At 6:19 a.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the Avalon Shelton Complex, 185 Canal Street, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Smoke from an oven self-cleaning caused the alarm. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
At 4:57 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to Route 8 southbound between exits 13 and 12 for a motor vehicle accident. An engine and a rescue truck responded.
At 5:49 p.m., the Huntington Co. #3 responded to Route 8 northbound between exits 12 and 13 to assist EMS. An engine responded.
Friday, June 7
At 9:23 a.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to 159 Center Street for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. A unit responded.
At 6:14 p.m., the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 1000 Bridgeport Avenue for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
At 6:38 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Coram Avenue at Center Street for a motor vehicle accident. A rescue truck responded.
Saturday, June 8
At 8:36 a.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 6 Plaskon Drive for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
At 9:09 a.m., the Huntington Co. #3 responded to the 11 Waverly Road for an illegal open burning. An engine responded.
At 2:42 p.m., the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Yutaka Trail for an electrical power line down. An engine responded.
At 5:04 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to Bridgeport Avenue at Sullivan Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. A rescue truck responded.
Sunday, June 9
At 6:33 p.m., the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to 30 Jenyfer Court for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. An engine responded.
Monday, June 10
At 7:03 a.m., the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, 25 Old Stratford Road, for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire. Water from a leak in a bathroom got into a smoke detector which caused the alarm. The tower truck responded.
