Shelton firefighters battle nighttime house blaze near Housatonic River
Shelton firefighters responded to a house fire on Indian Well Road on Wednesday evening.
Crews from all four Shelton volunteer fire companies battled the blaze, which was reported at about 8 p.m. Approximately two dozen members of Echo Hose, Huntington, Pine Rock Park and White Hills were at the scene.
“The house was well involved in the rear, with exposure problems,” according to a post on the Echo Hose Facebook page.
Two hose lines were used to fight the fire. It does not appear any residents or firefighters were injured during the incident, but there are some reports a family pet may have perished.
Indian Well Road runs along the Housatonic River near Indian Well State Park, and is home to waterfront community known as The Maples.
