Six-year-old killed in Route 8 crash identified
Nyah Marcano of Ansonia was identified as the six-year-old girl that was pronounced dead following the accident on Route 8 in Shelton Tuesday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the late afternoon, near exit 12.
The fatal crash involved three cars, according to police, who said that two cars slowed down for traffic, leading to a third car crashing into the back of them.

One vehicle went down an embankment between the northbound and southbound lanes of the state highway and Marcano from the car. Police said the child died from her injuries.
At least eight people involved in the crash were taken to Bridgeport and Griffin hospitals. The crash slowed traffic on Route 8 for hours and tied up traffic throughout much of Shelton, particularly Bridgeport Avenue.
Shelton Police, Connecticut State Police, Echo Hose Hook and Ladder and state Department of Transportation workers responded to the scene on Tuesday.
