Third man charged with armed robbery of Shelton hotel
Shelton police have arrested a third Bridgeport male for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery of the Residence Inn on Bridgeport Avenue in June.
Derrick Gilliam, 28, of Bridgeport was arrested on Oct. 10 by police on a warrant and charged him with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny.
Gilliam was held on a $75,000 bond and was arraigned in state Superior Court in Derby.
On June 26 at approximately 8:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the Residence Inn located at 1001 Bridgeport Ave. on the report of a robbery.
Two hotel employees told officers that two males entered the hotel, displayed a firearm and demanded money. The males left the hotel and got into a vehicle with a driver waiting for them.
No injuries were reported during this incident.
Anthony Santiago, 20, of Bridgeport and Lancelot Supersad Jr., 19, of Bridgeport were both arrested July 21 and charged with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny for their alleged role in the armed robbery.
