Police on Monday arrested a Shelton man they say contacted a domestic violence victim while he was incarcerated. On Monday, July 9, Shelton police arrested 49 year-old Fredrick Kushpinksy as he exited a Greyhound bus in Waterbury. \u00a0 Detective Chris Nugent said Shelton Police were contacted in June about Kushpinksy attempting to make contact with a victim from a previous domestic violence arrest. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Kushpinsky was attempting to send mail to the victim while incarcerated on domestic-related charges at Bridgeport Correctional Facility. Kushpinksy had three outstanding warrants for missing court on other arrests. Shelton Police applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Kushpinksy for eight counts of violating a protective order. Shelton Police were informed that Kushpinksy would be arriving from out of town in Waterbury by Greyhound bus on Monday. The bus was arriving from Maine. \u00a0Shelton Police, with assistance of Waterbury Police, were able to locate Kushpinsky arriving at the bus terminal and take him into custody without incident. He was held on $225,000.00 bond for the three Failure to appear warrants and $75,000.00 for the Shelton Investigation. \u00a0Kushpinsky is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court Tuesday.
