Kristjan Ndoj being remembered ‘for the sparkle in his bright green eyes’
The 15-year-old Shelton resident who died Thursday morning from gunshot wounds suffered last Saturday is being remembered by his family as intelligent, athletic and wise.
Kristjan Ndoj, a sophomore at Shelton High School, was shot in a driveway in the city’s Pine Rock neighborhood.
“Today, the Ndoj family suffered the horribly tragic loss with the passing of their beloved Kristjan,” said attorney Michael S. Boynton, a spokesman for the family.
“A bright boy, and naturally gifted athlete, who seemed wise beyond his years, [he] will be remembered by all who knew him for the sparkle in his bright green eyes,” Boynton said while speaking at a Thursday afternoon press conference at Shelton High School.
Kristjan Ndoj is survived by a mother, father and an older brother, who is a senior at Shelton High.
Boynton said the family prefers not to speak directly in public about what happened at this time, but to offer comments through a spokesman. Boynton is an attorney with a Milford-based law firm.
Thanking doctors and hospital staff
Boynton said the family wanted to thank Bridgeport Hospital doctors and staff for their “heroic efforts” to try to save Kristjan Ndoj’s life.
The teen had been in critical condition in the hospital since last Saturday evening, and died Thursday morning.
Police have said he was shot twice — once in the head and once in the leg. There has been no arrest in the case yet.
Confident the case will be solved
The family also expressed their appreciation to the Shelton Police Department and other law enforcement officials for the ongoing criminal investigation, according to Boynton.
“They remain confident that the police investigation will lead to the arrest of the responsible party or parties,” he said.
In addition, Boynton said, Ndoj family members wanted to thank “their Shelton neighbors, as well as all those who [have] offered their kind and thoughtful expressions of love and support toward Kristjan and his family.”
