Dr. Aaron Krasner of Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan spoke to the HAN Network Tuesday about how both students and parents can prepare for the transition to college.

Krasner spoke with Kate Czaplinski and Joshua Fisher on Coffee Break, a weekday news and lifestyle show that airs at 11 a.m. at HANRadio.com/livestream/. He touches on "helicopter parenting" and how a students might struggle with going from being over-scheduled to having more free time at college.

"Some of the acting out you see with college kids has to do with the difficulties of separating," Krasner said.

He also gives advice on how parents can check in, once students are moved in.
