Elizabeth Misiewicz, daughter of Shelton residents Stephen and Betty Misiewicz, received a master’s degree in English education from New York University during the May commencement ceremonies in New York City. She was honored with the following awards: NYU Letha Hurd Morgan Award for “Outstanding Scholastic Attainment and Service to Department and School,” NYU Steinhardt “Outstanding Achievement Award in English Education” and the NYU Steinhardt Graduate Student Organization Star Award for “Outstanding Contribution to the NYU Community.” Misiewicz is a newly-hired seventh grade English teacher in Ridgefield.
