Shelton High School students cook with science and the sun

Students at Shelton High School use household items, such as foil, cardboard boxes and plastic wrap to create a solar cooker Thursday during the sunny day. They insert a reflector, usually a mirror and an item they want to heat up (like water).

Every three minutes they take the temperature of the water and look for it to rise. Each group has reported that the reflection of the sun has caused the temperature of the item they are measuring to rise.
