James W. Domorod Sr., 61, of Wilmington, DE, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Christiana Hospital.

Jim was born in Shelton, CT to the late Walter and Madeline (Youd) Domorod.

His legacy will live on through his contributions to the Delaware Volunteer Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Jim began in fire service with Brandywine Hundred Fire Company in 1968 and is a life member of Five Points Fire Company, where he had held the offices of Ambulance Captain and Secretary.

Through the years, he taught emergency medical technician and incident management courses for the Delaware State Fire School.

Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 39 years, Katherine (Childress) Domorod; his daughter, Jessica Berkley and her husband, Bryan; his sons, James Jr. and his wife, Sarah and Kenneth and his wife, Alyssa; and his six grandchildren, Zachery, Abigail, Andrew, Jimmy III, Emily and Joseph.

Friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Saturday, January 12 from 2:00 – 4:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM. Friends are also invited to gather at the funeral home on Sunday, January 13 from 10:00 – 10:45AM. A pr ocession to Five Points Fire Company will begin at 11:00AM, with a remembrance service at 11:30AM at the Five Points Fire Company Memorial Hall.
