Obituary: Bruce Daniel Gormley, 71, of Shelton
Bruce Daniel Gormley, age 71, of Shelton, passed away April 9, 2014 in his home.
Bruce was born in Norwalk, CT and was a longtime area resident.
He graduated from Boston College with a degree in English and received his master’s degree in teaching from Fairfield University. Bruce was an English teacher at Brien McMahon High School, an adjunct professor at Housatonic Community College, and a software specialist for the City of New Haven.
Bruce’s interests included creative writing, boating, photography, and hiking.
He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Helen Gormley and his brother Brian Gormley.
He is survived by his children Maurade Gormley of NY, NY and Ross Wells Gormley of Brooklyn, NY; his sister Maureen Bligh and her husband George of Monroe; his former wife Peggy Gormley of Fairfield and four nieces and nephews Bruce and Geoffrey Bligh and Elona and Keegan Gormley.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Church Of Westport 10 Lyons Plains Rd. Westport, CT.
