Obituary: Charles Myles Corey, “Bub”, “Charlie”, 49, of Stratford
Charles Myles Corey, “Bub”, “Charlie”, age 49, beloved companion of Danielle M. Smith, of Stratford, died March 28, 2014 at home following a sudden illness.
Born in Bridgeport on October 17, 1964, he was the son of the late Frank Kerekes and Eilene Corey.
Charlie was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from the University School. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed road trips on his Harley Davidson.
He will be remembered for his passion and dedication for his family, especially for his cherished grandchildren and his love of the open road.
In addition to his beloved life companion and grandson Jeffrey Adam Stanley, with whom he made his home, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa S. Corey of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Derich Cayden Hartley and Gabriella Sue deLima, both of Waterbury an aunt, Irene Lucas and her husband, Michael of Bridgeport; a brother, James Corey and his fiancé Kelly of Shelton; as well as many, many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Regina “Grams” Corey, by whom he was raised.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Celebration of Charlie’s life on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at 170 Silver Lane, Stratford. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia is in care of arrangements.
