Mrs. Helen Mikos Sadlik, 88, of Derby, died Friday at The Hospital of St. Raphael’s with her loving family surrounding her. She is the wife of the late Edward Sadlik.

She was born on May 27, 1924 daughter of the late Zygmunt and Mary (Raslavsky) Mikos and a life long member of the Derby community.

Helen was an Administrative Clerk for the Birmingham National Bank retiring from Colonial Bank.

A communicant of St. Michael’s Church, very active in the Parish Festivals for many years, a member of the Ladies Guild and worked during her retirement at St. Michael’s Church receptionist.

Survivors are son Raymond Sadlik of Derby, Brother Henry Mikos of Shelton, special cousin Louise Opiela of Shelton, who she considered her sister, and all the neighborhood kids thought of her as their second mom and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by son Richard Sadlik and brother Martin “Butch” Mikos.

Her Funeral Service will leave the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N. Cliff St. Ansonia on Tuesday at 9:30 am to St. Michael’s Church for mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery Derby. Calling Hours will be on Monday from 5-7pm.
