Philip B. Lutheran, age 83 of Stratford, the beloved husband of Helen (Kirlik) Lutheran passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center.

Phil a retired test technician for Textron Lycoming for 39 years was born in Granville, NY on February 1, 1932 to the late John and Mary (Chatlos) Lutheran and has been a long time Stratford resident.

He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and volunteered many years for St. Mark Choir and St. Mark’s Bazaar. He was a daily communicant until he became ill.

Philly-Lou, as he was affectionately known, loved to travel, had a large repertoire of jokes and was always the life of the party. He cherished his time with his loving family and enjoyed watching his three granddaughters dance.

Survivors include his beloved wife Helen of 58 years, 3 devoted children, Blase Lutheran of Stratford, Todd Lutheran and his wife Mary Jane of Stratford and Jeff Lutheran and his wife Jenifer of Shelton, 3 cherished granddaughters, Carley, Courtney and Megan, a sister Ceil Daniel of Bridgeport, sister-in-laws Mary Jordan of Stratford and Helen T Lutheran of Stratford and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents (John & Mary), brothers, Baby John, Stephen, John, Charles, Paul and Rev Joseph, sisters Helen Pifko, Mary Shinglar, Pauline Kowolski, and Margaret Lee. He also loved his grand dogs-Dallas & Riley.

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 9:15AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10AM in St Mark Church Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in Monroe. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7PM
