William “Billy” C. Schwaller, Sr., age 88, of Shelton, entered into rest on Friday, December 20, 2013, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of 40 years of Sally (Terrell) Schwaller.

Billy was born in Shelton on November 12, 1925, son of the late Frank and Mildred (Thompson) Schwaller, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.

He served his country during WWII in the US Army, and ran William Schwaller Septic for over 50 years.

Billy loved his work, and he was considered the honorary mayor of Huntington. He was a former member of the Huntington Fire Company #3, and he was a great friend of animals, especially loved his two cats, Jake and Mama.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is the beloved father of William C. Schwaller, Jr. and his wife Norma, Douglas Szigeti and Cindy Ann Malick and her husband Douglas. He leaves fours cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Casey, Jessica and Renee, and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alex, and Henry.

Billy was predeceased by a brother, Frank Schwaller, and two sisters, Harriett Chapman and Eileen Castle.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Saturday, January 4th, from 1 to 2 PM. A memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 2 PM.
