To the Editor:

Over eight months ago, Anne Gaydos, former Republican BOE member, and I, met with David Eldridge regarding his interest in running for mayor and if we would run his campaign. After questioning David for three hours on Shelton policies and issues, Anne and I were blown away with his knowledge of the Shelton budget and issues that need to be addressed.

We asked David, why pick two Republicans to run your campaign? He stated, it’s not about party affiliation, it’s about having the right people around you to make sure we move Shelton in the right direction. Public servants over politicians. His goal is to serve others, not himself.

The day before we agreed to run the campaign, David pledged to keep taxes low, which is a core value for Shelton residents as he knows he would be voted out in two years. He is committed to well planned developments, to be a mayor for all and to bringing back pride to Shelton. Change is difficult and can be a fear for many; however, have some faith — David is the right man for this job. Vote David Eldridge on Nov. 2.
