I recently discovered geocaching, an international treasure hunt that combines clues and global positioning information to reveal small boxes people have hidden in public places. It’s wildly addictive and the perfect summer activity for those lazy days when going to the beach just isn’t enough. There’s something magic about stumbling upon something hidden in plain sight.
I feel the same way about finding that perfect night out with friends. It’s so much more fun to discover something off the beaten path, even if it’s out of my comfort zone. One night last summer we enjoyed a note-for-note bluegrass tribute to Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of The Moon” with the band dressed as characters from the “Wizard of Oz.” I hate bluegrass, but this kind of real-life treasure hunting turned out to be a blast and one of my fondest memories.
