To the Editor:
What a heartwarming moment I had on Sunday afternoon. As I was driving home in the Waverly Road area, I noticed a lemonade stand on the side of the road, staffed by two little girls and their dad.
Because I love to support children who demonstrate such initiative, I stopped to purchase a cup of lemonade. To my surprise, the sign indicated that the lemonade was free.
As the older girl poured my cup, the younger girl handed me a card that said that they were doing this as an act of kindness to honor one of the children killed at Sandy Hook.
I was very touched by this realization, and would like to thank the children for sitting outside on a warm afternoon giving away lemonade for this reason, and also their parents for encouraging them to be so kind and giving.
