Obituary: Angelina Posta Porto, 94, of Stratford

Angelina Posta Porto, age 94, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph Porto Sr., passed away peacefully on February 16, 2015 in Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side.

Angelina was born on June 17, 1920 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Filomena Ciccone Posta.

Angelina was a great cook and baker, loved to knit, worked from the time she was 16 years old and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, where she worked as an assembler.

Angelina is survived by one son, Joseph Porto Jr. of Shelton, three daughters, Anne Voccola of Stratford, Carole Porto of West Haven and Jeanette Lewin and husband Dr. Marvin of Bradenton, FL, six grandchildren, David, Dina and Jeffery Voccola, Joseph III and Matthew Porto and Jessica Crosland, one brother, John Posta and wife Phyllis of Ansonia, one sister, Lena Smerglinolo of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband, Joseph, Angelina was also predeceased by three brothers, Carmen, Joseph and Mario Posta and one sister, Theresa Nicita.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Galello- Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, where a service will be celebrated by Deacon Robert McLaughlin of Our Lady of Grace Church. Entombment will follow in St. Michael’s Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
