Barbara Ann Schumacher, age 76, of Shelton, went to heaven on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1936 in Derby CT, daughter of the late Stephanie and Edward Klubek. She was the devoted wife to William Schumacher and a longtime resident of Shelton.
Barbara was a choir volunteer for many years at St. Margaret Mary Church and at Fr. Ralph Diorio Mass and Healing Service. She started playing the accordion at a young age, then took up the organ later in life. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking.
She was a bookkeeper prior to becoming a devoted mom.
Survivors include her children, Diana Carnevale (Tom), Kathleen Miller, Eileen Anderton (Lee), Sabrina Robinson (Larry), James Schumacher (Loretta), Matthew Schumacher and Daphne Curtis (Art); 13 grandchildren, her brothers Eddie and Mitchell Klubek and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Rosie Battaglino.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Wednesday, family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Her burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
