Obituary: Frank Warren Crooker, 95, a Shelton

Frank Warren Crooker, age 95, a Shelton resident for almost 60 years, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home in Stratford. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Danielson Crooker.
Frank was born in Norwich, CT on August 17, 1919, son of the late Frank Dennison and Ethel Carpenter Crooker.
He graduated from Westerly High School (RI) and from the Aero Industries Technical Institute in Los Angeles, CA. He was a draftsman by trade and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for 25 years and then at Electric Boat (Groton, CT) until his retirement.
Frank was fascinated by machinery, especially cars, planes, and his beloved 1948 Harley motorcycle. He loved nature, particularly birds, trees, and the ocean. His natural kindness was most evident in his interactions with young children, elderly people, and animals.
He is the beloved father of Cynthia Crooker (New Haven, CT), Patricia Crooker Ryerson (Tyngsboro, MA), Megan Crooker (Wallingford, CT), and Sharon Jindal (Philadelphia, PA). He also leaves 3 cherished grandchildren, Stevie Crooker, Kai Crooker, and Michael Torres, and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by one daughter, Anna Maria Crooker.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 15, from 1:00-3:00 p.m at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ASPCA, Earthjustice, or Ocean Conservancy.
